The mission of TNO is to generate innovative solutions with demonstrable impact for a safe, healthy, sustainable, and digital society and the earning capacity of the Netherlands. We achieve this by performing two core tasks: The first is to support the government in carrying out (legal) government tasks in the general interest. The second core task of TNO is to promote the earning capacity of the Dutch economy and to increase employment.
The Mobility & Built Environment department is involved in research issues around the sustainability and optimization of the road network in both urban mobility and logistics. For example, we are developing Urban Strategy, a tool that can be used to explore planning decisions, and we are conducting extensive research into possible transition paths to emission-free city mobility and logistics.
