Terms and Conditions Participation Career Day FSS 2026
Article 1: Participation Fees
1.1 The stated prices include both participation and lunch. The Career Day Committee does not charge VAT over the participation fees.
1.2 All prices are stated in euros unless indicated otherwise.
1.3 If any over-registration occurs, the Career Day Committee reserves the right to determine participation on the Career Day, this will follow a drawing of lots in which students of the faculty of Spatial Sciences have priority over other participants. For further drawing of lots, priority will be given to students who enrolled earlier in their study programme. Persons who are excluded from participation due to the drawing of lots will not be charged for the participation fees and will be excluded from the sign-up gifts promotion
Article 2: Payment Conditions
2.1 Payment will take place through a SEPA direct debit from the account number stated in the registration form.
2.2 Payment will take place within sixty days after the Career Day.
2.3 An invoice of the participation fees can be requested via email, which is: careerdayfss@ibnbattuta.nl.
Article 3: Cancellation of participation
3.1 Until the 23rd of April 2026 at the latest – you can cancel your registration free of charge. After this date, the full participation fee will be charged. Cancellation can be done exclusively via email to careerdayfss@ibnbattuta.nl A colleague can, after giving notice to the Career Day Committee, replace you without additional costs.
3.2 The same final cancellation date – the 23rd of April 2026 – applies to the students that are participating. Added to this, if the student does not cancel the participation in time and/or does not show up to the Career Day, the student will be charged for all costs made for them. This amount is pre estimated to be 50 euros.
3.3 Participation at the event is mandatory to be eligible for the sign-up promotion draw.
3.4 The costs owed after late cancellation will be recovered in the way described in Article 2.
Article 4: Changes in timetable / Cancellation of the event / Rescheduling
4.1 Changes in the timetable will exclusively take place in the event of force majeure and/or illness of the keynote speaker(s).
4.2 Your registration to your preferred workshops is generally guaranteed. Only in exceptional cases, as described in Article 4.1 and/or in the case of over-registration to a workshop, you will be registered to your chosen backup workshop, the available spots in this workshop will be based on the chronological order of subscription.
4.3 The Career Day Committee reserves the right to change the date and location of the Career Day at any time, or to cancel the event, or to strike, whether or not due force majeure as stated in Art 6:75 (of the Dutch Civil Code) BW.. No claims for compensation or damages may be made under any circumstances, whether the date or location is changed due to force majeure or at the discretion of the Career Day Committee.
Article 5: Liability
The Career Day Committee cannot be held liable for any damage to persons or property arising from or in connection to participation in the Career Day.
Article 6: Applicable Law
To all offers and agreements, to which these Terms and Conditions apply, only Dutch law is applicable.
Article 7: Privacy Policy Faculty Association Ibn Battuta
In addition to these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy of Faculty Association Ibn Battuta (which is in line with the GDPR - AVG in Dutch) also applies for participation in Career Day FSS. The privacy policy can be found on: https://www.ibnbattuta.nl.
Article 8: Sign-up Promotion
8.1 The rules of the Sign-up promotion can be found on careerdayfss.com. By signing up for Career Day 2026, participants agree to participate in this draw in accordance with these rules, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
8.2 The Career Day Committee is not responsible for any damage to persons or property related to the gifts given out in the Sign-up promotion.
8.3 Participation in this promotion is limited to faculty staff and currently enrolled students of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen.
Article 9: Portrait Rights
9.1 By participating in the Career Day FSS, the participant agrees that photo and visual material captured during the event become the property of the organizer.
9.2 The participant hereby irrevocably grants permission to the organizer and its authorized representatives to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and disclose this material globally and in perpetuity, for promotional, marketing, educational, and other legitimate purposes.
Article 10: Remainder
In all cases not covered by these Terms and Conditions, the Chairman of the Career Day Committee, in consultation with other members of the Career Day Committee, reserves the right to determine the appropriate course of action.
