Ilse Nederlof
Ilse Nederlof is a Business Developer at Vitens, a water utility in the Netherlands. Ilse focuses on innovations that increase water availability around current and potential new water resources. The need is urgent, as water scarcity is no longer a future risk but a present reality in several regions. Key to her work are exploring and developing place-based solutions with stakeholders, with a strong focus on spatial and future-oriented design. In addition, Ilse is impact coordinator for Vitens at NGinfra. Vitens collaborates with NGinfra to address cross-sectoral challenges that cannot be solved by the individual infrastructure organizations alone. Topics include resilience, resource scarcity and strategic project planning and execution. Fourteen years ago, Ilse was just like you/us sitting in the lecture halls of Spatial Planning. Her favourite course? Spatial Design! After her Bachelors she went on to study Water Management at Delft University of Technology. Urban water and resource management were part of her degree. Ilse started her career combining both worlds of water and spatial planning at an engineering consultancy where she did consultancy work concerning climate adaptation. Driven by her curiosity about strategy, spatial design and water, she found her way into the world of drinking water at Vitens.

Roman Schuijers
Roman Schuijers is an alumnus of our faculty, where he completed his Bachelor's and Master's degree (EIP). After graduating, he started working at Aiber as a project manager. For the past three years, Roman has been working for the Nationaal Coordinator Groningen through Aiber. This governmental organisation is tasked with reinforcing houses in the earthquake ridden area of Groningen province. Here, he has grown from an assisting position to a leading role as project manager. "I hope I can provide you with some insights in how it is to work for a private company, as well as in the government sector. For me, the mix between the two keeps me on my toes and provides me with broad stimuli. I can work on my goals for personal growth, and I can directly see the impact of my work for the people in Groningen province.”
