Wijnand Veeneman

Wijnand veeneman is a Full Professor Governance of Infrastructure and mobility at TU Delft with over 200 papers authored or co-authored. He started of as a PHD student at TU delft in which he researched regional governance in public transport in order to improve organisation in Copenhagen, Newcastle, Zurich and Maastricht.

After promotion with a doctors degree, he started working as project manager for B&A group in mobility and infrastructure. Additionally, he worked as project manager NGinfra for public values with focus on securing public values in infrastructure sectors given the push for competition and privatization. During this time he worked for consultancy company Inno-V as advisor on public transport authorities, operators and regulators on improving the governance of public transport for 10 days a year. Currently, Wijnand Veeneman teaches on decision-making and stakeholder engagement in development process of complex energy projects aimed at project managers and directors in the Shell Project Academy. On top of that, he supervises 8 PhD’s at TU Delft. Next to his work at the TU Delft he develops and coordinates research programs as Scientific Director at NGinfra.
His research is mostly focused on designing, contracting, and managing for public and shared transport services and the related infrastructures, like railway lines, transport hubs, etc. He works transdisciplinary: “Engineering, economics, public administration, organisational science, travel behaviour, urban planning, decision making, all play a major role when understanding the effectiveness of mobility systems”, in his words.
